ikonami’s CEO Kubair Shirazee submits a road map for the introduction of a commercial data protection legislation in Pakistan to bolster the host economy’s attractiveness for FDI in the IT sector. Following a meeting with the President of Pakistan, His Excellency Mr Asif Ali Zardari, Kubair Shirazee submitted a report and road map for the introduction of a data protection legislation in Pakistan that would enable Pakistan to develop a significant differentiator amongst outsourcing destinations.
“Outsourcing is global and every host economy needs a differentiator, and I don’t mean cost, for outsourcing is already cheap. Your reasons to outsource should list value above cost, likewise your selection of a host economy should list environment above cost as well. Pakistan has excellent value to offer, the regulations are good too but they need to go beyond regulating access, every host economy needs to provide a regulatory framework for the storage, usage and protection of both commercial and personal data. By introducing one Pakistan will have a strong differentiator amongst peers.” Kubair Shirazee.
