ikonami's approach to project and programme management has been forged in software development for the public sector, as well as managing offshore suppliers. Consequently our pragmatism is based on tried and tested methodologies such as PRINCE2 and DSDM.

One of the areas that we are asked to get involved in is to assess an organisation's project management capability. By running internal audits we can assess the organisational capability to deliver projects successfully. The audit results allow us to then design a programme of improvement. This can then lead onto a fuller strategy development exercise which requires end user training. We design such strategies in conjunction with key stakeholders to ensure that any changes are fully embedded at the end of the training.

Related to this is the idea of designing and implementing project management methodologies. Although organisations know that they should have a methodology in place to manage their projects, this task falls in priority relative to actually delivering the projects. As external consultants we can assist in initiating this task as a change programme within an organisation, ensuring momentum throughout.
